Sunnyside supportive housing incorporates 30 apartments within a flexible support program for residents with mental health challenges and the frail elderly. Physiotherapy and fitness facilities in a central wellness centre serve residents, the surrounding senior community, and the adjacent long term care facility. Designed to universal accessibility standards, each unit faces either east or west for direct sunlight. The recessed balconies are lined with Western Red Cedar, and ground floor common areas overlook the adjacent forest and gardens.

The project achieved LEED Silver accreditation, is built mainly of prefabricated wood framing, and incorporates ground source heat for long term carbon reduction. Lillepold Dowling Architects in association with Levitt Goodman Architects.
