Working in the local vernacular of sheds and barns, the composition of this small artist’s studio is led from internal use and the surrounding site, carefully considering natural light and views. Inside are two main spaces, a high open volume for large work overlooking the distant landscape, and a more contained space with long counter and reclaimed wooden window sashes tucked below the storage loft and opening to a small garden. The interior structure and decking are exposed wood, with floor and large window built from reclaimed barn boards and timbers.
